What’s the format of what you put in the Target field? Is it just words like something.something.something?

just my public IPV4

im just trying to proxy a mc server but wont let me add the cname like its done from the video i watched

CNAME targets have to be hostnames, like in the example. Not IP addresses. If you want to use an IPv4 address, it has to be an A record.

so this video is out dated then https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Xqsc9sNTq0I

about 13.25 in the video

so if you could how would i set this up to work then if you can no longer use ipv4 in the cname

That requires at least a Pro plan. There is also the Spectrum upgrade required, for which there are additional costs, and it is fairly expensive.

You can see in the video that he didn’t actually enter an IP into the CNAME record. If he had done so, he would have received the same error that you see now.

You can also see in the video that he disabled the proxy.
