If you added the CNAME for the apex domain pointing to the Pages site by hand, then delete it and add the domain as a custom domain to your pages Project as here…

That will generate the DNS record for you too.

For www, either add that as a custom domain as well, or redirect www to the apex domain using Redirect Rules, depending on your preference
