Hello. How can I access my domain email ([email protected]) via Gmail? When I try to add it in Gmail, I get asked for a password, but I never set one up What should I do? If it helps, my domain was purchased with Namecheap.
Can I do this without Google Suite?
Yes, Gmail needs an SMTP account to send emails on behalf of your domain, and that’s the SMTP account password it’s asking for.
Cloudflare Email Routing handles incoming emails only: you cannot use it to send emails and it doesn’t have mailboxes.
So you’ll need something else – an SMTP account for your domain. I’ve seen Gmailify mentioned here a couple of times (about $7/year), but any SMTP provider that will let you authenticate your domain should suffice.
Or you can save yourself all the troubles inherent in email forwarding and cobbling multiple tools together like this, and get a real mailbox with full sending/receiving capabilities. A single mailbox account from the likes of Google, Microsoft, Zoho, etc will cost you about 5 bucks per month, and will have far more advanced routing capabilities out of the box than Cloudflare Email Routing will ever have.
