Confused about Logging Real Visitor IP Addresses: mod_cloudflare

I am a bit confused. I own a website on a shared server. The hosting (WPX) don’t install mod_Cloudflare on their servers. Is there anything I can do (in simple language) to allow Logging Real Visitor IP Addresses?

I have read the downloads page but I don’t really understand what I should do.

As of Apache 2.4 there is a built-in module which achieves the same, mod_remoteip. They only need to enable and configure it. If they still refuse you can only either add some code to your website (assuming it is not static) which logs the addresses additionally or change host.
