Conflict between private Cloudflare for DNS and hosting's Cloudflare Enterprise?

What is the name of the domain?

What is the issue you’re encountering

Potential conflict?

What steps have you taken to resolve the issue?

My site should be delivered through my host’s Cloudflare Enterprise account, but that requires me to first have DNS records which I have created through my personal (Free) Cloudflare account.

I was under the impression that I could use Cloudflare’s DNS through my personal account without using any of Cloudflare’s other services. However, the interface for my personal Cloudflare account seems to suggest it’s handling all my web traffic, rather than just acting as the DNS pointing to my host (Cloudways).

As far as I’m aware, since my Cloudflare DNS is pointing to my host it should be my host serving the content (through their Enterprise plan), but I’m paranoid that everything is actually going through my personal account. Is there any way to confirm for sure?

Or was my assumption false about being able to use my personal account for only DNS?

What feature, service or problem is this related to?

DNS records

If you set the DNS record to DNS-only (:ngrey: ) it should bypass your account and go directly to theirs.

Thank YOU! And especially thanks for including that icon, because it wasn’t at all obvious that the Proxy button changes to DNS ONLY when you de-activate it.

Thanks MVP!
