Configure DNS to point to a Google Drive URL

Hi,

I own a domain (authzen.guide) that I bought on Cloudflare. The root of the domain goes to a site hosted on Pages. So far, so good.

Now I also created a Google Drive folder with slides inside. The URL of that folder is OpenID AuthZEN - Google Drive. Anyone with the link can see its contents. I want a subdomain (files.authzen.guide) to point to it. I’ve tried adding a CNAME with https:// but that leads to Error 1004 in the DNS config page. If I try w/out https:// I can save my config but it still doesn’t work. If I choose to proxy through Cloudflare I get

Error 1016

Ray ID: 89239b9c6bfb2da5 • 2024-06-11 18:19:10 UTC

Origin DNS error

If I don’t proxy via Cloudflare I get a different error along the lines of ‘not found’ though it doesn’t seem to be a 404.

What am I missing?

Thanks

Your CNAME is invalid as it includes a path, it can only be a hostname…

dig +short files.authzen.guide
drive.google.com/drive/folders/18olt-puydnix7nrkxg4hsnn9bre-bzq8.

You can either use a Redirect Rule to redirect to that link, or use a Worker to proxy it for you so it appears under your domain…
