I’m purchasing a website, but the current owner refuses to provide access to the existing Cloudflare account and says I should create a new one. I’m unsure if this is the right approach and whether it could affect the website in any way. Is it safe to set up a new Cloudflare account, or should I insist on getting access to the existing one? Has anyone dealt with a similar situation before?
The person you are buying from may have many domains in their Cloudflare account, so it’s reasonable they won’t give you the account. Just create a new account of your own and add the site to it as per these instructions (making sure you have access to the domain registration account to set the 2 Cloudflare nameservers you will be allocated)…
If the domain is registered with Cloudflare Registrar, you will have go through this process…
