Overview
You can monitor your website’s performance right from your visitors’ browsers using Browser Insights. Browser Insights adds a javascript snippet into your webpage. This will help you customers determine the causes of, or anticipate incidents that might render end-user experience suboptimal.

You can’t improve what you can’t measure. Knowing exactly when, where, and why your websites are not performing as anticipated is vital.

Browser Insights

  1. To enable Browser Insights, navigate to the Speed app of your Cloudflare dashboard and turn on Browser Insights.

  2. With Browser Insights enabled, you can begin to analyze website data on a couple of different levels:
  • Request-level metrics like TCP connection time, or Request time. These metrics are counted on every page load and are impacted by Internet infrastructure, like the mobile network of your end users, or the speed of your servers.
  • Page-level metrics like Page Load Time, which take into account the many requests needed to load a web page, plus the time taken to parse HTML and execute JavaScript. For complete details about using Browser Insights, review the Lite Reading section of this Tip.
  1. With the Google Chrome team, Cloudflare delivers Web Vitals measurements in Browser Insights. Web Vitals help web developers and website owners measure and understand load time, responsiveness, and visual stability. With Cloudflare’s Browser Insights, Web Vitals are easier to measure than ever. Web Vitals are free for anyone to collect data from the entire web.
