CNAME Record propagating as ANAME

Hello,

I recently created a CNAME record in my Cloudflare DNS for the subdomain “staging” - however when I’ve looked up that DNS record it is reporting that it is propagating as an ANAME record, not a CNAME record.

Any suggestions on why that is?

Because the record is :orange: Cloudflare is obfuscating the origin and returning a A record for the query which points to Cloudflare’s IP address.

Hi cscharff,

Thanks for the quick reply. So to confirm it IS actually a CNAME, Cloudflare is just masking that fact when I use a lookup?
