CNAME record not propagating although already added

What is the name of the domain?

selling.michaelroberts.ie

What is the issue you’re encountering

We are trying to add a subdomain for GoHighLevel, but the CNAME record is not verifying although already added. Error: Couldn’t find a CNAME/A record pointing selling to sites.ludicrous.cloud/162.159.140.166

What steps have you taken to resolve the issue?

Contacted GoHighLevel support and they said to ask Cloudflare why the DNS records have not propagated.

What feature, service or problem is this related to?

DNS records

You have 4 Cloudflare nameservers set at your registrar, there should be only 2. Only use the 2 nameservers allocated by Cloudflare for your domain (dom and jasmine)…

For your DNS records, they are returning as proxied by Cloudflare. You may need to set them to “DNS only” for GHL to verify they are set correctly. Once done, if you use just the CNAME and not the A record, then set them back to being proxied, you can benefit from O2O…

selling doesn’t appear to have any DNS records so check that. If unsure, show a screenshot of your Cloudflare DNS records.

Nameservers changed to dom and jasmine

That’s the DNS record added

Should I add an A record as shown in this?

You’ll need to point selling at whatever you are doing with it. If it’s for GHL, then point to their CNAME.

Already added but still the same error
Error: Couldn’t find a CNAME/A record pointing selling to sites.ludicrous.cloud/162.159.140.166

Your domain status is “Finish setup”, you may be in a different Cloudflare account from the one where your domain is currently active and may not have selected a plan. If unsure, show a screenshot of the whole of the “Overview” page for the domain.

Check that the nameservers at the bottom of the DNS page here are the same 2 as set at the registrar…

Here’s the overview section

Changed the correct nameservers from the bottom of the DNS page

Domain is now active in that Cloudflare account and selling is now resolving…

sites.ludicrous.cloud.

It may take a little while for the nameserver change to be picked up by resolvers.

Yes! Subdomain is already added in GHL. Thank you!
