If it is a CNAME for email use or needs to be validated by a host, make sure it is set to “DNS only” and not “Proxied”.
What is the CNAME record you are creating?
I set it to “DNS Only,” but I’m still having the same problem. I just uploaded a new page, and this issue started happening after that.
What is the record you are creating? Can you show a screenshot of your Cloudflare DNS records?
If you are pointing to a Pages site, then make sure you add the custom domain to your Pages configuration which will create the DNS record for you, don’t create the DNS record yourself.
Note that a CNAME created for the apex will not return a CNAME when queried, only A/AAAA records (and records created by Pages will be proxied so not return CNAMEs anyway).
