CNAME Error Code 81053

I want to create a new CNAME, but I get an error: "CNAME already exist with that host (Code: 81053)

How can I fix this?

Delete the record with the same name (the first one in the list) and then add the CNAME record to replace it.

For the 5 seconds it takes to add the new record with the same name? Yes. If that downtime is unacceptable you can use the API to issue a patch command and change the record type instead.
