What is the name of the domain?

it-experts .uk

1014

What is the error message?

CNAME Cross-User Banned

What is the issue you’re encountering

I recently purchased this domain (but i did own this domain a while back but let it lapse)

What steps have you taken to resolve the issue?

updated the A record with the correct IP, but i have no CNAME configured

What feature, service or problem is this related to?

I don’t know

If you check the SSL settings for your domain, is Universal SSL enabled?

I don’t see error 1014 when opening your domain, but a ERR_SSL_VERSION_OR_CIPHER_MISMATCH error.

Hi,

I have “No encryption applied”, under SSL/TLS

please try this http, this is when the error is shown.

Please change the SSL mode to Full (Strict).

Thanks, I’ve done that but still doesn’t work, but I still get that error on http

Is Universal SSL enabled or disabled for your domain if you check under SSL settings?

https://dash.cloudflare.com/?to=/:account/:zone/ssl-tls/edtge-certificates

It’s enabled, shall I disable it?

No. At the top of the same page, it should show your certificates. What does it say under status there?

It’s says:

Your plan does not allow you to upload any SSL certificates, but you may

order an auto-renewing certificate or upgrade to the Business plan to enable this feature.

No certificate.

I cannot see anything as the top of that page which refers to status.

If you click that link, is the free “Universal SSL” currently selected?

Can you try to disable Universal SSL ONCE for a minute and then then enable it again?

It should look like this usually:

Ok so it looks better now I disabled and the re-enabled it and now I see this

How long does it normally take to be reviewed as it’s still in pending status

Could you show a screenshot of your DNS records? I believe this might be happening because of a bug that I’ve encountered before. In that case, support would need to fix this.

It should usually happen within a minute or so.

Sure these are the records I have setup

Yes, that looks like the same bug that happened to someone else after their domain expired.

Can you create a Registrar ticket and share your ticket number here? You can open a Registrar ticket here, https://dash.cloudflare.com/?to=/:account/support

I’ll then flag that ticket for support.

Thanks for all your help so far @Laudian

Support have replied, and informed me that I refer to the following documentation (below). This isn’t helpful,

You are right, that is not very helpful. I’m pretty sure it’s the same bug as in these 2 threads:

In both cases, users saw the CNAME Cross-User Banned error after a domain had expired and they then renewed it.

Thanks I have mentioned this post and the ones you have linked me too, hopefully I get a more useful response this time.
