CNAME automatically removed

I had all the dns setup and the page was resolving fine.
The other day it just started to not resolve in the browser giving me the error:

This site can’t be reached

DNS address could not be found. Diagnosing the problem.
DNS_PROBE_POSSIBLE

I just noticed the the CNAME had been removed that connects the domain to the [domain].pages.dev site.
I didn’t make any changes since it had been running for a couple days, can this just randomly happen?
I did allow google search console to add it 's txt record, but deleting the CNAME was not on the list of changes it would make, and also the DNS was still resolving fine after this change.

Unfortunately, it’s a known issue that the Google Search Console integration will delete any CNAMEs on your apex/root of the domain. It should show “replacing” in the integration screen, but it’s easy to miss.
If you go back within Pages Custom Domains (Magic Link: https://dash.cloudflare.com/?to=/:account/pages/view/:pages-project/custom-domains), you can delete, and recreate the Custom Domain, and it should start working with any issues.
