Cloudflared 1.1.1.1 - SSL issue

#1

Hi,

I’m using Cloudflared, and my configuration file (cloudflared.yaml) is as follows:

proxy-dns-address: ::1
proxy-dns: true
proxy-dns-upstream:

When I run Cloudflared --config cloudflared.yaml, I get the following error:

I’ll post the error later (Site has a problem with new user posting what appears to be full URL links, but are just error messages).

Another error message is the same as above, but ends with 1.0.0.1 (I can’t post full URL links according to this site, as I’m still a new user)

What’s the problem here? Is it a problem with the SSL certificate? If not, what’s the problem?
How do I resolve this?

The errors are:

ERRO[0174] failed to connect to an HTTPS backend “https://1.1.1.1/dns-query” error=“failed to perform an HTTPS request: Post https://1.1.1.1/dns-query: x509: certificate
is valid for 1.1.1.1, 1.0.0.1, 2606:4700:4700::1111, 2606:4700:4700::1001, not 1.1.1.1”

Can you tell me on which platform is this? Is it Windows?

#4

Yes,

This is on Windows 2008 R2.

#5

Thank you, the Windows build seems to have problems with IP SAN certificates, I’ll investigate.

#6

Give Simple DNSCrypt a try, or the proxy directly. It connects to the correct IP, but validates a name (dns.cloudflare.com) instead of the IP, to work around these issues.

Hi there,

I’m running Cloudflared on Windows, and my configuration file is as follows:

cloudflared.yaml

proxy-dns-address: ::1
proxy-dns-address: 0.0.0.0
proxy-dns: true

I’m getting these errors:
[9473] failed to connect to an HTTPS backend “https://cloudflare-dns.com/dns-query” error=“returned status code 504”
[9615] failed to connect to an HTTPS backend “https://cloudflare-dns.com/dns-query” error=“returned status code 504”

Any idea why this is the case? A server backend issue?

Some Windows and Android versions are known to ave issues validating the certificate.

Use dnscrypt-proxy instead, or SimpleDNSCrypt if you prefer a nice user interface.
