The Cloudflare Tunnel connection is VERY SLOW
What steps have you taken to resolve the issue?
There are many reported issues like this one, may of them differ a bit in the setup but all have one thing in common:
- There is nothing wrong with their setup
- There is no support person giving answer what is wrong with the speed
I have cloudflared service directly on my Ubuntu 24 server with the latest version installed directly from the cloudflare docs (cloudflared version 2024.8.2 (built 2024-08-06-1218 UTC)).
My server has 60/60 Mbit connection, fairly stable, maybe will get down to 40Mbit sometimes.
When I am doing connection test via remote machine to the server (doing it with openspeedtest) and also other applications (portainer, immich…) I get very bad download speed on my client machine.
Latest result is 0.11Mbps Download and 14,6Mbit Upload Check out my Network Speed
The Upload is OK since it is capped by my client machine upload speed.
When I connect to the speedtest via SSH tunnel I get the expected speed, the cap of my client machine (~16/16Mbit).
I am rethinking now into switching to other service such as Tailscale.
