Cloudflare tunnel docker image will not start up

What is the name of the domain?

aclauss.org

What is the error number?

1033

What is the issue you’re encountering

cloudflared immediately exits when trying to start up

What steps have you taken to resolve the issue?

I have the cloudflare/cloudflared docker image running on a raspberry pi 5 (running Ubuntu 24). Twice now, the tunnel has gone nonresponsive. During this time, attempting to access the relevant hosts through a browser gives the generic Cloudflare Tunnel Error 1033 page.

The first time, I just gave the Pi a reboot and everything came back up fine. However, it is currently down again and rebooting is not resolving it. The container log simply shows the attached logs over and over. It has been in this state for a couple of days now.

They seem to suggest a DNS issue, but various dig/nslookup commands run just fine. The last error about failing to resolve a SRV record. As in, querying that on dnschecker.org also cannot resolve it - nothing to do with my local environment.

Picture of the logs attached… since I apparently can’t paste them here (it contains “more than 4 links” and fails to post)

What are the steps to reproduce the issue?

Start up the cloudflare/cloudflared docker image.
