Hi, we use cloudflare as our DNS host, and would like to set some redirects. Problem is that these are from Activecampaign (AC). However, these are also cloudflare domains, and it does not allow us to point to them. Anyone know a solution?
Hi there,
Just to confirm are you talking a HTTP redirect or are you referring to CNAME DNS record?
These are two different things and have different outcomes for different purposes, but sometimes CNAME’s are referred to as redirects and that is not their purpose.
What do you want the expected behavior to be in your browser?
A) A user visits your site www.example.com and then sees the content of the ActiveCampaign page, but the browser address bar still reflects your www.example.com ?
or
B) A visitor to your site www.example.com sees the address changes from your site to activecampaign.com hostname in the browser address bar, and you see the content from AC?
These would be the solutions for these two scenarios:
A) Requires that ActiveCampaign allow you to CNAME to their zone, which means they need to be signed up to Cloudflare for SaaS and would require a discussion with them - Cloudflare for SaaS · Cloudflare for Platforms docs
B) You can use page rules or redirect rules to create a redirect in order to achieve this.
Hope this helps!
