Hey there!

Sorry to hear about these 522 errors. I don’t see a RayID in your screenshot, but I can reproduce the issue. As the error message indicates, there’s a timeout when Cloudflare attempts to reach the origin.

In further testing, I see that Cloudflare is not able to connect to the origin server. In running an MTR, I can see requests make it into your host’s infrastructure, but are blocked before they can reach your origin server.

Please reach out to your host to make sure they are allowing all requests from Cloudflare’s IP addresses listed at www.cloudflare.com/ips

If you need more details on the issue, please post your Case #, and we will be glad to follow up in the ticket.

Hello cscharff,
I can’t find where to pause Cloudflare. I see my site. I see an ‘Active’ with a checkmark on it. You’d think by clicking that you could toggle it’s status, but you can’t. There’s not even a description on how to do so.

Hello cf-scott,

We have added all Cloudflare IPs to the .htaccess file, so there should be no problem with that.

Oh my gosh! Upgraded to Business plan to hopefully get real time support; but Chat isn’t available for this topic. Very frustrating!

Pause Cloudflare | Cloudflare Fundamentals docs is the current instructions I believe…

Thank you for that. The instruction worked for pausing the site. However, it’s still unaccessible, though the error has changed:

On the overview page, the same page where you see the green active “pill”, go to the lower right and at the bottom you’ll see the pause option

You need to work with your host now until your website is working again. Once it is, you can unpause Cloudflare.

This is not something Cloudflare can assist in.

If :logo: is paused an the origin still responds with an error ask your host to recheck. When Cloudflare is paused the DNS lookup points to your origin directly and the issue (if any) should be resolvable by your hosting provider.

Okay, thank you, I’ll put it back in their court.
Still wish that a public forum wasn’t be best place for Cloudflare support… pretty weird.
