Cloudflare Stream use case

I would like to know if I can use Cloudlare Stream service to publish on our website 24x7 live video from 11 network cameras we own and that we use to monitor street traffic. We wouldn’t need recording since we’re only interested in monitoring current street traffic contitions. We are currently publishing static images uploaded from the cameras via FTP every 30 seconds. The cameras support RTSP.

The webpage where the images are published (which would be replaced by the video streams) receives considerable traffic (over 500,000 monthly pageviews).

Is there a way to project the cost for the Stream Service based on this information?

At this moment, Cloudflare Stream only supports RTMPS (push), SRT (push), as input sources. You can read more at Stream live video · Cloudflare Stream docs.

Most surveillance cameras only support RTSP (pull) and/or MJPEG (pull) streams. If you want to use Cloudflare Stream, you can consider set up software (on a computer/server) to ingest the RTSP camera feeds and then push them out to Cloudflare Stream over RTMPS.

Regarding the price of Cloudflare Stream, you can take a look at Our Plans | Pricing.

Free, Pro, and Business Plan pricing:

  • $1 per thousand minutes viewed per month
  • $5 per thousand minutes of video stored per month

Enterprise customers can negotiate a reduced rate through custom pricing.
