Cloudflare script that lowers the Best Practice Metric score

Normally my website’s Lighthouse results are worth 100 points per metric.

Performance - 100
Accessibility - 100
Best Practices - 100
SEO - 100

But after being served with Cloudflare, a script was added to my HTML, and inside that script, there is some deprecated code. This drops my website’s best practice score to 92.

Performance - 100
Accessibility - 100
Best Practices - 92
SEO - 100

This is the script I’m talking about. And it includes deprecated uses.

I don’t think it’s right for Cloudflare to have a negative impact on these metrics. Also, the scripts they write should be in line with best practices.

Congratulations! I appreciate websites which a perfect technical score

You can easily remove that script. You don’t need to have it.

This beacon.js is Cloudflare’s implementation of Browser Insights. Just disable it here: https://dash.cloudflare.com/?to=/:account/:zone/security/settings

and you should be good to go. However, if you like its functionality and want to use it, you will have to report this to the devs, by creating a ticket.

Hope that helps
