Cloudflare removed from domain after Dynadot domain push despite "Keep current DNS

What is the name of the domain?

What is the error number?

No specific error number, site just not resolving

What is the error message?

This site can’t be reached — zoroto.vip’s server IP address could not be found.

What is the issue you’re encountering

I recently pushed my domain zoroto.vip from one Dynadot account to another. During the domain push process, Dynadot asked me whether to “keep current DNS settings” and I made sure to check this option before proceeding. The push completed successfully, but right after that, my website went down. It seems like Cloudflare DNS and settings were removed, and the site stopped resolving. I was using Cloudflare as a CDN before, and everything was working fine. Now the domain is no longer connected to Cloudflare and shows no DNS records.

What steps have you taken to resolve the issue?

Checked domain status on Dynadot — it shows correctly transferred.
Visited Cloudflare — domain is missing from dashboard.
Verified that “Keep current DNS settings” was indeed checked.
Domain is currently down and no DNS settings seem to be active.

What are the steps to reproduce the issue?

Register a domain via Dynadot and connect to Cloudflare as CDN.
Use Dynadot’s “Push Domain” feature to move it to another Dynadot account.
Check “Keep current DNS settings” during the push.
Complete domain push.
Observe that Cloudflare settings are removed and site goes offline.

The domain seems to be resolving and working ok and active on Cloudflare…

Your DNS wasn’t with Dynadot if you were using Cloudflare, only the nameservers needed to be kept the same. Moving domains around the registrar won’t impact your Cloudflare account settings. Are you still seeing a problem?

Thanks for checking! Yes, the domain is resolving now because I’ve reconfigured it. The issue happened because when I transferred the domain, I forgot to check the option to keep DNS settings. As a result, my registrar reset both the DNS records and nameservers, removing Cloudflare settings entirely.

Since DNS wasn’t retained, Cloudflare lost track of the domain, and I had to manually re-add it and update nameservers to restore everything.

Cloudflare won’t have lost track of the domain, but if the nameservers change away from those required for the zone then Cloudflare will remove the zone after 7 days and purge it 7 days later.
