I have Cloudflare plugin for using Cloudflare APO service. The problem is, it slows down the submission of comments on WordPress. It takes up to 30 seconds for a comment to register. I have found out that the plugin is very proactive in keeping the site secure and this might be interfering with WordPress comments.
Unfortunately, it has basic settings and there’s no way to disable it from keeping off the comments section.
How can I fix this?
It’s possible it’s actually the cache purge that’s taking so long. Is your site really big?
It’s just a new site that I’m setting up. So, it’s almost empty I can say.
I don’t think it’s specifically the plugin. I have a test site and it took 2.5 seconds to submit a comment with APO active.
It is. If I deactivate it with the rest of the plugins active, comments are submitted in milliseconds (Not even a second).
And when I have it active with the rest of the plugins inactive, it takes up to 30 seconds to submit a comment.
So that means it’s messing up with something somewhere.
