CLOUDFLARE NS cannot be changed if the domain bought through Cloudflare as DOMAIN Registrar

Any domain bought through CloudFlare as the DOMAIN-Registrar can’t get the NAMESERVER changed. I cant remove the CloudFlare Name-Servers from the DNS records. Tried adding the WIX DNS but it still doesn’t work. Is there a workaround for this? Tried adding the WIX NS but looks like it doesn’t work.

You are correct, Cloudflare registrar does not currently support changing nameservers.

But this is insane, seriously most of the domain registrars support changing nameserver as a basic functionality. It’s a complete mistake to register a domain through the cloudflare then.

Most do, and in my opinion all should, and Cloudflare definitely should add this functionality.

However, Cloudflare’s registrar service is designed exclusively for Cloudflare-hosted domains and as the pricing is at cost, it is essentially a loss-leader to bring in customers, so the limitation makes sense.

Thanks for the response but the logic doesn’t make any sense, domain registrar is a value add service by cloudflare and its designed to get more business for cloudflare. Think of it as a marketing expenditure for customer acquisition. There is no reason why change of name server can’t be supported. It’s such a basic functionality, which should be provided irrespective of their customer acquisition strategy, which in this case by being the domain registrar.

FYI, how cloudflare enforces things from the backend through their ridiculous policies:
Below is the text from their terms and conditions documents,

SERVICE USAGE.
Nameservers. Registrant agrees to use Cloudflare’s nameservers. REGISTRANT ACKNOWLEDGES AND AGREES THAT IT MAY NOT CHANGE THE NAMESERVERS ON THE REGISTRAR SERVICES, AND THAT IT MUST TRANSFER TO A THIRD PARTY REGISTRAR IF IT WISHES TO CHANGE NAMESERVERS.
