Added united-kingdom.network to Cloudflare, everything except email is working. As soon as the DNS switched to Cloudflare my email client is unable to connect to the mail server.
I assumed that it would be automatically set up, apparently that’s not the case. Looking through the posts, it seems to be a recurring problem.
I have three questions. 1) why does Cloudflare kill your email? 2) As it seems to be a recurring problem, why hasn’t something been done about it? 3) For someone who is not into fiddling with DNS records, how do you fix it?
It seems very odd to me that Cloudflare as one of if not the top CDN hasn’t got this sorted so it just works.
Have you tried changing the mail subdomain from proxied to non proxied (from orange to gray).
If the above solution solves the issue then it’s not that they haven’t done anything about it but rather that some people need the functionality so it’s generalized over all DNS entries the same way.
Apart from a txt record united-kingdom.network v=spf1 +a +mx +ip4:xx:xx:xx:xx and that is set to DNS Only, I can’t see any other entry referring to the mail server at all. The mail server is mail.united-kingdom.network
