The domian says it needs me to contact my registrar, which is Cloudflare, to update nameservers. They are my registrar but I cannot seem to get any response from them in support. They seem happy to take the money for the payment of domains but will not help when needed. This has been an ongoing issue with my domain renewals and I have lost some domains because of it. I feel like they are doing it on purpose. I have now waited weeks for a response on 3 domains sitting waiting for the name server update. They should be the same as when i bought them the first time. But I cannot renew them in this error state. I brought over a hundred domians when I moved to CF a few years ago and have had nothing but issues. In thew past they have admitted it is a glitch, but you cannot get ahold of them to help fix it and then end up losing the domain.
What steps have you taken to resolve the issue?
I have put in support tickets and followed all guides which by the way do not help. But I never hear anything back
What are the steps to reproduce the issue?
CF needs to make a final fix of this admitted glitch so it does not happen ever. And make it easier for registrar customers to be treated as other business customers when needing help, other them just treating us like we are bottom of the barrel.
I see a number of tickets from you from today, 01256736 is open. The team will work with you on that ticket, no more tickets are necessary.
I see you added the domain to the account you are using here & to open the tickets, but the domain has never been active in that account. Nor do I see that the domain was purchased in the account you are using here.
In order for Support to work with you’ll need to create a ticket from the account you used to purchase the domain. I see it was added to your account here after it expired. The domain is currently expired (since 2024-09-03) and is in the redemption period.
Support will need to work with you on the ticket in order to determine next steps and how they can assist you. Sorry for the issues you’re encountering.
I owned the domain for years before I brought all of my domains to the CF registrar. The domain was purchased already. I have no idea what you are talking about by saying it is nnot active in the account, it is on my registrar page in CF and has always been in there??
I have created a ticket for help in my one and only account with CF, so I also don’t understand why I would need to create another. All I am trying to do is renew them. The reason they are expired is I have been trying to get through to CF to help get the name server issues resolved. Until your message today, I have never heard anything from anyone I have sent in tickets too.
The domians have expired because I cannot get the name servers to show what they need, they already should have the CF nameservers that I use on all my other domains. I have had over 100 domains on my account, so I am not sure why these do not work??
Trying to get any help with CF as a registrar for all my domains is a pain in the ■■■, no one responds. I moved all 100+ over to CF a few years ago and have had this same issue several times, and lost several domains because of it. Absolutely stupid and bad customer service.
Please do not create another ticket, a Support team member reached out to you on 01256736 earlier today and they’ll continue to work with you on that ticket.
As mentioned, Support can only work with the account owner, if they are unable to associate the domain with the account you used to open the ticket, they’ll reach out with suggested next steps.
Sorry for the issues with reaching out to Support. Are there earlier tickets I can ask the agent to look at as I see three tickets from you, all opened 11/2 (the domain expired 9/3 according to whois)
If you have other tickets with Support I will as the agent to look at those. At the moment, 01256736 is open and assigned to the agent that replied to you earlier today. 01256739 & 01256656 are both closed and are the same issue as 01256736. I’ll add myself to 01256736 in order to track progress with Support. I apologize for the issues with this.
Yes, I do recall there are a lot of domains in your account.
Can you share the name of one or two of those that you’ve lost? I am curious as that may give me more details I can share with the agent on your ticket that will help us to help you better.
Also there is nothing to click on in the CF panel under overview to access to change the nameservers? It is a continued circle of clicks that never go anywhere
That is the issue I don’t understand then, I keep getting the message to change my name server names, and CF is my registrar, they should automatically do it or know what they are at the set up so this pending nameserver change error does not keep coming up. I am sure it is a glitch, from the past times it has happened also. It is just frustrating.
Hi @user22655 can you share the name of one or two of the domains you lost?
I see my Support colleague indicated you needed to contact Support from a different account. My hope is if I can identify one or two of the domains you lost due to issues with renewal it will help me to find out the root cause of why this is occurring. If you prefer, I can start a private message thread with you and we can discuss those details privately, whichever you prefer and are comfortable with.
Private would probably be better. The thing is is I don’t have two different accounts I’m not even sure what they’re talking about with that so anything you can do to help would be great
And by lost domains I mean they expired and I was not able to pick them up before somebody else got them because they sat here forever waiting for a named server change which they already had the CF name servers assigned to them there’s a glitch somewhere that’s causing this I’m sure
The domains that say “pending nameservers update” do need to be adjusted by us, but domain renewal you should be able to do on your own by following the steps here: Renew domains with Cloudflare Registrar
