CloudFlare Images Price

What steps have you taken to resolve the issue?

I’m reviewing the pricing for Cloudflare Images, but I have some questions:

On the Free plan, when proceeding to the payment screen, it says that image transformations are charged as PAYG: “$1.00 per 2,000 images transformed.”
However, the documentation states that up to 5,000 image transformations are free. It also mentions that if you exceed 5,000 on the Free plan, it results in an error.
So, is the documentation correct, and the PAYG pricing does not apply to the Free plan?

Additionally, for the Paid plan, it also states “Images Transformations: $1.00 per 2,000 images transformed.”
But the documentation includes the following note — does this mean that the transformation fee applies only when using images stored in external storage (i.e., not in the Cloudflare Images bucket)?

Alternatively, Images Stored and Images Delivered apply only to images that are stored in your Images bucket. When you optimize an image that is stored in Images, then this counts toward Images Delivered — not Images Transformed.

In what area can we help you?

I don’t know

Hi, @Ron1998!
You can use Cloudflare Images on a free plan to transform your images stored outside of Cloudflare. If you choose a paid plan, your images will be stored, transformed and delivered directly from Cloudflare.
On a free plan, keeping your images outside of Cloudflare, you’ll only pay in case you exceed 5,000 unique transformations by month. In that case you’ll be charge $0.5 / 1,000 unique transformation / month (which is the same as $1 / 2,000 unique transformation / month).
Pay As You Go (PAYG) it’s a concept that means that you’ll be charged for what you’ve used. Considering Cloudflare Images, on a free plan, you’ll only be charged if you exceed 5,000 unique transformations by month.
You can see a comparison between Cloudflare Images on free plan and the other ones available in your dashboard > Images > Plans. In case you still have questions, please consider raising a ticket to our Billing team. In the menu “What type of question do you have?”, please select Billing. Thank you!
