I still get “failed to connect to an HTTPS backend” errors periodically but they used to knock Cloudflared with Gateway off, now it’s resilient to them.
Not as resilient as I had hoped…just had a total failure.
Cloudflare Gateway via DoH care of Cloudflared + Pi-hole on a Raspberry Pi is just not ready for prime time.

I did what was recommended on that thread on Github, switched to DNSCrypt-Proxy, and everything has been fine.
I’m experimenting with nextdns. Seems pretty cool. It also integrates directly with openwrt
