irrelevant (it was working yesterday), and still works for real emails (gmail etc)
What is the error number?
None
What is the error message?
None
What is the issue you’re encountering
I am trying to send verification code from [email protected] today, but it doesn’t seem to be sent to cloudflare for some reason. It was working yesterday, so I’m not sure if cloudflare suddenly blocks them, or if it is their side that blocked my domain’s email.
What steps have you taken to resolve the issue?
None taken, I have no idea what can be done.
It isn’t logged in Cloudflare email routing (not received?), and there’s no error on the website I am sending verification code from, either.
I forgot to say that cloudflare does still receives and forward just fine. Only the email from that website doesn’t seem to send, which I have no idea who’s blocking / blocklisting who.
Can you confirm that I am understanding you well enough here?
You CANNOT see the problematic sender under the “Activity Log”, not even with a status like “Delivery Failure”, “Error”, or anything else, on this page?
Yes. It was still working yesterday, but not today. I’ve tested hours after but it still didn’t work - so I have no idea if my domain’s blocked, or their server went hiccup.
Can’t really send as the emails in my domain as I don’t have SMTP.
With nothing in the “Activity Log” regarding that specific sender, it means that Cloudflare has not received any message delivery attempts from the sender at all.
Any kind of troubleshooting will therefore need to be done together with the sender.
It doesn’t.
“MX” records define the place where other mail servers will connect to, in order to deliver message destined towards your domain.
The IP addresses for inbound mail servers (from the MX records) are most often completely different from the ones that are used in the outbound direction (when connecting to the MX records of other domains).
Random testing tools online won’t be able to properly check for such lists, unless you’re sending an email to them, and unfortunately, many of such tools are actually misleading their users, when they share such information based alone on the IP addresses of the MX records.
