CloudFlare domain registrar - Domain registration mistake (Typo in the name)

Hello,

I registered a domain yesterday using the Cloudflare domain registrar, however, I made a typo in the domain name and it ended up being something completely different.

I tried to contact support about this but there is no information so far about how to do this.

Can you give me a hand with this? Or should I register the domain again with the correct name and pay again?

Thanks a lot!

Yes, I am afraid domain registrations are never refundable and you will need to register the proper domain instead.

Sure, no problem.

Is there a way to cancel the existing one?

I believe you could drop it from your account, but once it expires it will be dropped anyhow.

Though, you paid for it, just keep it for now

I don’t think Cloudflare Registrar has a cancellation option but you can turn off auto-renew and wait for it to expire. In the meantime you might as well redirect it to your real domain in order to hopefully catch some typo traffic.

Agree. At least you have now an initial protection against typo-squatting.

How do we get that? Is it enabled by default?

That’s not really related to registrar services or Cloudflare.
