Hello,
I purchased my domain with cloudflare. I have webhosting through bluehost. I need to change my DNS Record nameservers to the bluehost given ones so that I can connect my domain to my website. Bluehost said that I need to contact cloudflare to have them changed.
Thanks!
this is for a virtual nonprofit in Illinois that does mental health services and we need help with the tech side.
You can’t change the nameservers of a domain registered with Cloudflare as indicated at the time of purchase.
If the host gives you A/AAAA/CNAME records to point at your hosting, then you can use those in your Cloudflare DNS. If the host allows, you can delegate to their nameservers for subdomains (such as www) but not the domain.
If they require you to use their nameservers, then you’ll need to transfer the domain out to another registrar after the (ICANN mandated) 60-days.
