Cloudflare DNS (1.1.1.1)doesn't work after connecting to ProtonVPN in Brave Browser

Switch to another DNS provider

What are the steps to reproduce the issue?

  1. Use Brave Browser. Under security, enable “Use secure DNS” and use Cloudflare (1.1.1.1) as DNS Provider.
  2. Enable ProtonVPN
  3. Try to go to any website, and it will give that error

You can fix it by switching the DNS Provider to any other DNS provider.

I am not entirely sure where the problem lies, but this consistently happens when connecting to ProtonVPN and is solved by changing DNS provider.

I think this is actually a Brave Browser problem, not a Cloudflare problem. I will post there.
