Cloudflare compressed images not loading (404) in some Chrome browsers

We have a few images using the Cloudflare in-path compression. Ex: https://www.completebasementsystems.net/cdn-cgi/image/width=1200,fit=contain,quality=45,format=auto/wp-content/uploads/2019/10/silo-about-ba.jpg
This works fine for most users, but for some reason is getting a 404 on some Chrome instances in the office. Is there any way to tell and avoid incompatible browsers?

Is this a corporate site? If it is, my guess would be those clients are incorrectly resolving the site/host using a split brain DNS which sends them direct to origin. The cdn-cgi path doesn’t exist ion the origin, it’s a Cloudflare process.

Validate the DNS on these machines and fix to go through the proxy.
