I live in Russia and our government blocks many useful and necessary Internet services. To access these services, everyone uses VPN. I do not use specialized VPN services. I have my own CHR VPN WireGuard server deployed on VDSina hosting. But for some reason, some services using cloudflare do not allow me to use them.
What is the issue you’re encountering
Cloudflare blocking my IP
What steps have you taken to resolve the issue?
I wrote to the support of the game site owner. They advised me to write to my provider (or hoster).
I wrote to the support of the hosting that provides me with a remote server where my CHR VPN WireGuard is configured. They advised me to write to cloudflare support.
Cloudflare support is only for those who use paid services. That’s why I’m writing here now.
Was the site working with SSL prior to adding it to Cloudflare?
Yes
What is the current SSL/TLS setting?
Off
What are the steps to reproduce the issue?
Enable traffic redirection through the VPN server.
Website owners can literally do what they want to do with their websites, that’s beyond the control of Cloudflare, even when the website owner choose to use Cloudflare.
Contact the website owner, and at the bare minimum, include the Ray ID you see on the error page, and they will be able to dig deeper in to the situation with you.
Cloudflare won’t be able to assist you, if the problem you’re having, is on someone else’s website.
The obstacle you encounter should come from the website owner rather than Cloudflare. According to my experience, the reason you see the block page is because the website owner has set up Custom rules to block certain VPN connections. So I think you should seek help from the owner of this website.
I literally started with this. I wrote this in the topic. I started by contacting the site owner. They sent me to the provider (hoster). The hoster sent me here. And you are sending me to the site owner again.
I think the problem is that my server is just some server in some data center. And any traffic from such networks is indisputably considered harmful by cloudflare. If I had used a certified legal VPN service with public IP ranges and a clear, well-known ASN, then cloudflare would have known from the very beginning that this was a real person, and not some server (bot) in some hosting that in skilled hands can carry out very successful attacks.
Because they are the only ones with control over their website, including the Cloudflare configuration for their domain, therefore the only thing you can do, is to contact the website owner.
@sdayman made a a very great write-up about that over here:
That said, -
Such things aren’t impossible, and yes, due to the hefty amount of abuse originating from VPN services, cloud / hosting providers, and similar, it isn’t uncommon that website owners set up restrictions to block such services, in order to reduce the impact of negative traffic.
Such restrictions are configured by the website owner, and NOT by Cloudflare.
If the website owner don’t want to help you regarding getting back in, then the only thing you can do, is to find another website to use.
