I would like to convert a domain to Cloudflare, for which there is also a subdomain. I “only” have the free package. I know that i cannot bring subdomains to Cloudflare with the free package. Can I still take the domain (i.e. not the subdomain) to Cloudflare and the subdomain can still be reached directly from the hoster?
I hope you know what i mean.

ich würde gerne eine Domain auf Cloudflare umstellen, zu der es auch noch eine Subdomain gibt. Da ich “nur” das Free-Paket habe kann ich Subdomains ja nicht mit zu Cloudflare nehmen. Cloudflare starts with DNS, so you can support subdomains through your domain’s Cloudflare account.
But if you want, you can delegate DNS for the subdomain by adding NS records to your Cloudflare account that point to the name servers your Subdomain uses.
A subdomain would just be an “A” or “CNAME” record in your DNS page. Most likely an “A” record with the IP address of your server.
An NS record, if you want to do this instead, is also on the DNS page, but would have the name of your subdomain, “sub”, and a value of the name servers for that subdomain, such as ns1.webhost.com. You will most likely have two NS records: ns1, ns2.
Das ist falsch. Zu Cloudflare ziehst du generell mit deinen NameServern. Damit ist die komplette Domain (inklusive Subdomains) bei Cloudflare. Auch beim Free Paket! Du kannst deine ganze Domain (DNS Einstellungen) nun über Cloudflare steuern und dir so viele SubDomains anlegen wie du nur möchtest.
Wenn du eine Subdomain vom Cloudflare service ausnehmen möchtest kannst du diese einfach von auf stellen, und schon nurtzt du Cloudflare ein als DNS Server und nicht mehr als ProxyCDN! Damit wird nur der Domainname über Cloudflare aufgelöst, aber der Traffik nicht ge-proxied.
