CloudFlare Accessed from Unknown Location

We have an account with Cloudflare and yesterday we had unauthorized access to our account as shown in the email sent to us by Cloudflare:

Email Message

Your security is very important to us. This email address was used to access the Cloudflare dashboard from a new IP address:

email: [email protected]
time: 2020-12-02 03:29:35 UTC
IP address: 96.127.237.46
browser: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 10.0; Win64; x64) AppleWebKit/537.36 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/86.0.4240.183 Safari/537.36

This is an IP that we do not recognize and is not from our organization. I have already changed the password to the account.

However, I have a couple of quick questions:

  1. How and why did this issue occur given that Cloudflare is supposed to be extremely secure?
  2. How can we increase security and ensure such incursions do not happen again?

Can you please provide the required information and help improve the security of our account?

Thanks,
Arun

  1. It’s only as secure as your password, apparently.
  2. You can increase your security everywhere by using 2FA, which Cloudflare offers.
