I’m excited to announce expanded wildcard support in Cloudflare Access!
Access Application Definition wildcarding now allows users to more flexibly define Access Applications using the * wildcard character.
For example, test.*.example.com and example.com/*/path, which were previously invalid, are now valid wildcards in Access.
Additional information can be found here: Application paths · Cloudflare Zero Trust docs
Note
A small subset of customers who had an existing wildcard application with a wildcard at the end of an application path, not following a slash character will have different behavior until April 20th, 2023.
example.com/alpha*
will cover example.com/alpha
and example.com/alpha/one
but not example.com/alphabet
.
After April 20th, all three path combinations will be covered for all customers. All admins with an account impacted by this change will receive an email.
