CloudFare response first slow then fast

I’m new to CloudFare and still using FREE plan.

I’ve noticed the following (acc. to Pingdom results):

1. When ping a page for the 1st time the response time is 6 secs from any Pingdom worldwide servers
2. 2nd and all consecutive pings of the same page immediately after show amazing speed of 1.7 secs
3. Gmetrix results steady for all pings, about 4.5 secs which I find slow
4. The same goes for any page on my Web site WP + WooCommerce + WP SuperCache).

I know it must be related to server caching but I wonder how to check it and adjust out on CloudFare.

Any hint or suggestion is appreciated.
