My customer bought a domain name on cloudflare. MX records are managed on cloudflare. I’d like to redirect the records for the website to another external IP. How do I go about this?

What steps have you taken to resolve the issue?

I’ve added an A record for the domain to the new IP, but it’s not taken into account

Kindly, take a look under the DNS tab of Cloudflare dashboard for your zone.

It might be there is the CNAME pointed to Cloudflare default page such as on the below screenshot for example:

If yes, please remove it first, then proceed by adding a new record pointing to the correct IP address of your web hosting server and proxied .
