DNS records

Cloudflare registered domains have to be managed via Cloudflare nameservers and you cannot set third-party nameservers. If you need to do this, you have to transfer the domain to a different registrar.

Oh ok. Thanks. Thats unlike any other registrar. Please can you help me process a refund then. I need to manage this elsewhere.
I only purchased the domain about 1 hour ago.

Domains are not refundable I am afraid. Just configure the necessary DNS entries on Cloudflare. If that is not possible, you need to transfer the domain to another registrar, though you may have to wait the ICANN-imposed period.

That’s unreasonable to expect me to pay for the same domain twice.
Please process a refund. All registrars allows nameservers to be changed. This should be made clear at checkout because it is highly unusual.
Please direct this to a manager if required.

Again, domains are not refundable. Also, you don’t need to pay twice as a transfer will extend the domain by a year.

Well, it is

Touché…
how would I go about transferring a domain away from Cloudflare?

and why you guys got to be purposefully difficult and different for no reason?
Do you Just like making the customer experience worse?

The transfer would be like any other transfer. You simply pick a registrar of your choice and start the transfer.

But do keep in mind that ICANN typically requires a waiting period for freshly registered domains. So you probably cannot transfer it straight away.

The best course would really be to configure DNS on Cloudflare.
