When the name in the URL contains a dot, Cloudflare Pages seems to always consider it to be a file and will serve a 404 error instead of checking whether a folder with the same name exists.
So the mapping from the URL paths to the html files looks like this:
/examples/ → /examples/index.html (OK)
/examples → /examples/index.html (OK)
/examples/v0.5/ → /examples/v0.5/index.html (OK)
/examples/v0.5 → 404 error
Real example of page returning 404: https://tgui.pages.dev/examples/0.5
Is there something that can be done to fix this?
Or can this be worked around with e.g. a page rule that covers all pages containing such version numbers on my site?
