cf-connecting-ip header has stopped appearing in some requests

What are the steps to reproduce the issue?

Hello Cloudflare Support Team!

We’ve encountered the following issue:

The cf-connecting-ip header has stopped appearing in some requests, even though the cf-ray header is still present, confirming that traffic is going through Cloudflare.
This issue is occurring on several different domains.
It started on January 9, 2025.
Our Cloudflare settings (proxy enabled, correct DNS records) have not changed; we have not added any new Firewall or WAF rules.
We notice that the cf-connecting-ip header is missing in our server logs for a few select requests — specifically, a couple of requests per hour do not include this header.
Please help us understand why the cf-connecting-ip header is missing in some requests, given that the requests are clearly passing through Cloudflare (as indicated by the presence of cf-ray).

This is also happening for me. I have been battling this issue all day.

Hey,

This was due to something new we were rolling out, it has now been rolled back and you should no longer see the issue.

We will fix it before rolling out again. Apologies for the problems!
