CDN issues from behind a static WAN IP

What is the name of the domain?

na

What is the issue you’re encountering

throttling/bad overall connectivity to the cloudflare CDN when using home WAN IP. Unable to load some applications and webpages with CF take 5+ minutes to load.

What steps have you taken to resolve the issue?

Confirmed connectivity at line rate to other locations

  • speedtest net test via local server
  • speedtest net test via chicago server
  • speedtest net test via ashburn server
  • fast com speed test via ashburn server
All of the above confirm connectivity out to chicago/ashburn/local via ISP

Restarted ISP modem
Restarted routers (pfsense HA config)
Restarted desktop
Bypassed routers
Bypassed old WAN IP (set desktop to an unused IP in the subnet)
Attempt to use discord/doordash from another devices on LAN (fails)
Confirmed no major issues reported by 3rd party services mentioned above

Contacted ISP
ISP did see a latency issue (150-200ms) at end of network towards CF CDN ip 141.101.73.202
ISP tech was unwilling to escalate because reaching the end of the ISP network latency was fine ~14ms

Only way I can get to post this message, is by using a vpn
No known issues with cloudflare account, no notifications of any bans/warnings (do they do that?)

What are the steps to reproduce the issue?

Attempt to access/use any services that connect to cloudflare CDN
speed .cloudflare.com
discord .gg
doordash etc.

Screenshot of the error

I was going to go through and redo the tests and capture the results to share and started to resolve
Spent around the last 6 hours playing around trying to diagnose and understand the issue.

Will include I found this in another thread, I checked the provided url, went to go grab the test results and it seemingly got better. I’ve posted a more recent output of the cdn trace as well.

Noticing that it seems to be spotty as the sliver in ORD is changing over time on various connections
