Cdn-cgi/trace not detecting my location correctly

I’m using cdn-cgi/trace to detect the location of our customers in some US states.
When testing for Utah instead of colo=SLC, I get colo=LAX which is a datacenter far away form Utah’s Salt Lake.
What could be causing this issue and will it be resolved soon, since we test for other states as well and we don’t have this kind of problem.

Traffic is not necessarily routed to the nearest data centre, it may go to others depending on network conditions, ISP routing and peering and so on.

Don’t use the colo to check the location, use the geo headers instead:

My page here uses both…
