Just a heads-up: what’s your reason for deleting the domain registration?
If you simply don’t want the domain any longer, then ignore the rest of my message below and go ahead with the deletion.
But if your goal is to delete and re-register the domain elsewhere, then please STOP and think about this carefully.
Your domain is more than 5 days old (registered: 2025-03-01
). So when you delete the registration, the domain won’t become available immediately for re-registration.
Instead, the deleted domain will go into what’s called redemptionPeriod
state for 30 days, then pendingDelete
for another 5 days… before it’ll finally be expunged from the registry for you to re-register it elsewhere.
That means you’re going to wait for over 35 days even if the deletion were to begin today… before you can re-register the domain elsewhere and use it. (Note that this is not a Cloudflare restriction, but the nature of the best irrespective of which registrar you use.)
Even then, there’s no guarantee that you’ll be able to register the domain after the long wait – there’s a whole industry of people who do nothing but monitor, register, and resell deleted domains. So you run the risk of losing the domain entirely.
So if your goal is to re-register the domain elsewhere, then I’ll highly recommend that you wait until the 60-day mandatory wait period is over and TRANSFER it instead. That’s just 24 days more from today with no risk of losing the domain, compared with the 35 days of deleting and waiting and potentially having the domain sniped from you.
Better yet, if there’s something you were trying to do with the domain that you couldn’t — for which you decided to move it elsewhere, then… perhaps you could tell us about that so we can assist you? In most cases, there are options that don’t involve transferring the domain elsewhere!
Of course, if you just want to get rid of the domain entirely, then ignore everything I’ve said above
Good luck!
