My domain was registered on 1and1 and I have created a [email protected] email for my website. I can send emails from it but when I try and send emails TO it, they bounce back immediately and say “530 Authentication required”.
My site is hosted with Namcheap. All three IP addresses are the same. The mx record names are domain.com and the server names were given to me by 1and1.
530 is an SMTP error.
Most likely the SMTP authentication is not activated for the account your’re trying to send the test message from
Other reasons could be:
- Blacklisted/Blocked IP Address
- Invalid recipient email address.
