Can't enable JS-challenge against site copying "Checking your browser...."

Hi all,

we’re looking for a way to defend ourselves from automated content copying. On similar websites, we’ve seen something like a JavaScript challenge presented in case of too frequent requests. And it looked like a some kind of a Cloudflare offering.

It was showing something like this:

“Checking your browser before accessing
This process is automatic. Your browser will redirect to your requested content shortly.
Please allow up to 5 seconds…”

We’d probably like to have something like that too, so signed up for CF and its 20$/month plan.

We hoped that “scrapeshield” thing will provide this functionality, however, it looks like it doesn’t (or does no more).

So is it something that has been discontinued or we’re looking in the wrong place?

Thanks in advance for any info!

You can either enable “I am under attack”, which will show that challenge page for every request. Otherwise you can manually apply it using either firewall or access rules.

you could look at “rate limiting”, for example:

after 8 requests per minute -> challenge
after 100 per minute -> block

the numbers are just an example and need to be changed for each site

Thanks guys, you’ve cleared it out.
