I can’t disable Web Analytics from my Cloudflare Pages site.
What steps have you taken to resolve the issue?
Note: another post mentions the same issue and the answer seems to be that this is not possible. However, according to the docs, it should be possible.
I followed the instructions in the docs (go to the Pages project, then under Metrics, disable Web Analytics). They’re not working and I get the following untranslated error message: web_analytics.configuration.api.notFound.
Also, I surely disabled Web Analytics when setting up this site on Cloudflare Pages. Somehow it’s been re-enabled (I’m not sure when), and now I can’t turn it off again. This is a privacy no-go.
What feature, service or problem is this related to?
To disable Web Analytics for your Pages, you can navigate to the Dashboard > Workers (Compute) > Select the specific page > Click Metrics tab > Under the Web Analytics field, click the “Disable” button.
Hi @zakri, I appreciate the reply! The steps you’re describing are exactly what I did. Per my previous message:
I followed the instructions in the docs (go to the Pages project, then under Metrics, disable Web Analytics). They’re not working and I get the following untranslated error message: web_analytics.configuration.api.notFound.
I tried again the next day to see whether it was a temporary glitch but it’s still giving me the same error, I’m assuming that’s a bug.
This is definitely a Cloudflare Web Analytics bug. The dashboard shows metrics as being enabled (which I never did) and, as detailed above, I can’t disable them.
At the same time there are no metrics in the dashboard—trying to visit https://dash.cloudflare.com/<accountid>/web-analytics/overview?siteTag~in=<siteid> throws a “Site not found” error.
So because of some regression:
metrics are being collected even though I’ve never opted in
