Can't connect email app (phone) on main email account

Hi all,

I am having some problems with my email after setting up Cloudflare.

I am receiving emails on my desktop account, but I am not receiving the same email in my email app on my iPhone which is connected to my email account. When I try to connect my email app (on my phone) to my email account the connection fails. I have tried to use both my host (Bluehost) SSL/TLS settings and also Cloudflare nameservers (nelci.ns.cloudflare.com and titan.ns.cloudflare.com), but I still can’t manage to connect my email app on my phone to my email account.

I have tried to reset my MX settings, but the settings are still flagged, not sure why.

Cloudflare also keeps showing me this alert: “Some of your DNS only records are exposing IPs that are proxied through Cloudflare. Make sure to proxy all A, AAAA, and CNAME records pointing to proxied records to avoid exposing your origin IP.” which I am not sure how to address.

Any chance you could help with this? I attach a screenshot showing my DNS settings on Cloudflare.

Hi @user7905,

You need to change your mail A record from :orange: to :grey:. Then use that hostname to connect to for your mail. If you use the POP, IMAP, SMTP and FTP hostnames, those should also be :grey:.

Cloudflare doesn’t proxy mail traffic, so you need to connect directly to your server.
