I keep getting the error An A, AAAA, or CNAME record with that host already exists. (Code: 81053)
And I have looked through all the answers to this but I can’t seem to find an answer to my problem because I only have one A record. You can see the host I’m trying to add as a CNAME record. Please help
If you have an A record to the root domain, you can’t add a CNAME. Delete the A record, then you can add the CNAME.

I believe it’s a wrong message. It should be a message about it being the root, hence it’s applying CNAME flattering. Refreshing the page keeps that message?
Yes, refreshing the page keeps it. I’m not sure what CNAME flattening is and I don’t know if it’s a problem so that’s why I’m asking.
CNAME flattening is a way to have a CNAME at the root, which is something the DNS spec doesn’t allow.
It’s not an issue.
Okay, I’ll just let it be then, thanks!
